ROBINHOOD
SEASON

Robinhood Chain went live on July 1, 2026 and DEX volume spiked over 1,200% within days. Here's a sticker board for the coins making the most noise on it. Public data only clearly names about 14 — the rest of the "top 20" is a revolving door of new launches, so those slots are marked as wildcards instead of made up.

Why "Robinhood Season"?

Where the name comes from

Robinhood Chain went public on July 1, 2026 at a London event called "The World Is Flat." It's an Ethereum layer-2 built on Arbitrum's Orbit stack, meant to carry tokenized stocks (NVDA, GOOG, AAPL and more, priced via Chainlink oracles), onchain lending through Morpho, and a 7% APY product called Robinhood Earn — all wired straight into the Robinhood Wallet, which already reaches over 120 countries.

Traders started calling this stretch of July "Robinhood Season" because the chain instantly became the most-talked-about venue in crypto — not for the stock tokens it was built for, but for a wave of memecoins trading on it. It's the same naming pattern as past cycles like "DeFi Summer" or "Dogecoin Season" — a brand-new chain, a flood of fresh liquidity, and a community racing to find the next 100x before everyone else does.

Why it got this big, this fast

1. It's permissionless. Anyone can deploy a token on Robinhood Chain with no approval from Robinhood itself — so the moment the chain opened, launchpads like Noxa.fun let anyone spin up a coin and add liquidity to Uniswap in minutes.

2. The CEO gave it a nudge. A cat-themed token called CASHCAT — referencing Robinhood's own pre-IPO "Cash Cat" mascot — jumped over 700% in a day. CEO Vlad Tenev then posted on X: "While we're building Robinhood Chain to be the best chain for RWA … it works great for memes too," and followed the token's account. That was read by traders as a green light, and volume exploded from there.

3. Built-in distribution. Robinhood didn't need to bootstrap users from zero — it plugged the chain straight into a wallet already used by 27.6 million funded customers. That's a distribution advantage no brand-new L1 or L2 usually has on day one.

4. The numbers speak for themselves. Within two weeks: 141,000+ new active addresses, 3.6 million daily transactions (briefly beating Base's), $878M in 24-hour DEX volume on July 12, and over $5.5B in cumulative DEX volume — while more than 11,825 new tokens were launched in a single 24-hour period at the peak of the frenzy.

The irony underneath it

Robinhood pitched this chain as serious financial infrastructure. Two days after launch, Tenev told CNBC that "assets without utility don't serve a lasting purpose" — a direct jab at memecoins. Six days later, he was quietly cheering CASHCAT on. Reporting since then shows why: tokenized real-world assets on the chain are worth only around $12–13M, while CASHCAT alone briefly topped $150–170M on its own — more than ten times the entire RWA book it was supposed to prove out. Robinhood's crypto revenue had also fallen 47% year-over-year to $134M in Q1, so a self-generating wave of retail attention is a real business win, even if it's the "wrong" kind of activity.

Latest updates

JUL 17

Coindesk reports the chain's bridged TVL ($734M) is far higher than its actual deployed TVL (~$211M) — meaning a lot of bridged assets are sitting idle in wallets rather than being put to work in lending or trading.

CASHCAT slides roughly 12–37% from its peak as the broader memecoin category cools off; HOODRAT and JUGGERNAUT also drop over 25% in 24 hours. KuCoin analysts flag early signs of capital rotating from memecoins toward utility-driven projects like Arrow Finance.

Tenev publicly asks builders to bring tokenized stocks and RWAs into their own apps, pushing the chain's narrative back toward its original pitch.
